At a paternity trial, the blonde's lawyer asked, "On the night of July 16th last, at approximately 11:45 p.m., in the locale known generally as 'Lover's Lane' did the defendant have sexual relations with you?""Yes," whispered the girl, her head bowed."And did the defendant on that occasion, to the best of your knowledge, have a climax?" the lawyer continued."Oh no," she replied, "I'm pretty sure... he had one of them fancy Mitsubishis
A hillbilly family took a vacation to New York City. One day, the father took his son into a large building. They were amazed by everything they saw, especially the elevator at one end of the lobby. The boy asked, "What's this, Paw?"The father responded, "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life. I don't know what it is!"While the boy and his father were watching in wide-eyed astonishment, an old lady in a wheelchair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched small circles of lights above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction. The walls opened again, and a voluptuous twenty-four-year old woman stepped out.The father turned to his son and said, "Go get your maw!"
A bartender was washing glasses one afternoon when an elderly Irishman came in. With great difficulty, the Irishman hoisted his bad leg over the barstool, pulled himself up painfully, and asked for a sip of Irish whiskey. The Irishman looked down the bar and said, "Is that Jesus down there?" The bartender nodded, so the Irishman told him to give Jesus an Irish whiskey, too. The next patron to come in was an ailing Italian with a hunched back, who moved very slowly. He shuffled up to the barstool and asked for a glass of Chianti. He also looked down the bar and asked if that was Jesus sitting at the end of the bar. The bartender nodded, so the Italian said to give Him a glass of Chianti, too. The third patron to enter the bar was a redneck, who swaggered into the bar and hollered, "Barkeep, set me up a cold one! Hey, is that God's Boy down there?" The barkeep nodded, so the redneck told him to give Jesus a cold one, too. As Jesus got up to leave, he walked over to the Irishman and touched him and said, "For your kindness, you are healed!" The Irishman felt the strength come back to his leg, so he got up and danced a jig out the door. Jesus touched the Italian and said, "For your kindness, you are healed!" The Italian felt his back straighten, so he raised his hands above his head and did a flip out the door. Jesus walked toward the redneck, but the redneck jumped back and exclaimed, "Don't touch me! I'm drawing disability!"

For those of you who can’t figure out what to make for dinner might really like this smart fridge designed by Ashley Legg. This smart fridge knows what is in your refrigerator, and it can figure out from the food within what recipe you can make. It will then display this recipe on a touchscreen panel mounted in the door.
.Anyone remember when we reported on the electric car that goes 1,000 km on a single charge? Well, there is an electric car from the Racing Green Endurance Team that plans to take their SRZero Electric car 26,000km (16,000 miles). The SRZero electric car is sponsored by Imperial College London, and the trip it plans to make is down the Pan-American Highway, starting in Northern Alaska and going to Tierra del Fuego on the tip of South America. As you can see here, the SRZero car is it weighs just 1,433 lbs and has a 363 V8 in the back. Of course, the batteries will make the car weigh more at 2,600 lbs, and they have a 248 mile range at 386 horsepower. I have included a video of it in action that you can see after the jump if you want to know more about its history.
Once again, Microsoft Research is up to something amazing with Pinch-the-Sky. This project is currently a geodesic dome with cardboard shingles, and with an omni-directional projector in the middle that is gesture and speech sensitive. One of the things that this thing can do is show the viewer the universe like nothing else. You can watch the video after the jump and see the user scroll through galaxies and stars, and magnify planets like an iPhone app. All of the stellar information comes from telescopes, and the user can even say things like “Saturn”, and the program will focus on Saturn.
The creativity of people at times simply amazes me and Theo Jansen is one such person. He combines art and engineering to create light weight but giant wind powered creatures described as “Kinetic Sculptures, where nature meets technology”. The picture above does not do them justice, follow the jump to see the sculptures in motion, simply amazing.
I’m not certain what the technology is that uses fast moving LEDs to create messages, but I have seen it a lot on novelty gadgets. I remember walking into a gadget shop and seeing this thing that could wave a flag-like thing, and I could see words being displayed. I suppose it was an obvious move to apply this moving LED technology to bicycle wheels. If the bike wheel is stationary, all you will see is a bunch of glowing LEDs that blink with no real pattern. However, once this bike goes spinning, you will see all kinds of pictures and animations. You can click on my Source to see the video of the LED lights on bike wheels for yourself. The animation is about the same as those of neon lights, but it is good enough to get an advertising message across. I wonder if this is the purpose of this device

A Modern Floating House Concept by Koen Olthuis of Waterstudio.NL As New Orleans begins to rebuild, architects are taking seriously the question of how to design a home that can avoid being damaged by flooding inside the dykes. One answer is to build the house a buoyant foundation. The design work for this idea is being done by Dura Vermeer in the Netherlands. The key is a concrete foundation that functions both as a basement and as a life raft. It is connected to extendible steel pillars, so that, as the water begins to intrude, the house rises higher and higher with the steel pillars keeping it from floating away. It only floats up. The designers are also thinking of building floating structures for entire blocks of cities, so they all rise above the water together.
